Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and visionary OGC Sales Manager to drive strategic business growth within the upstream, downstream, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) markets in South Korea.
This role is responsible for leading Swagelok Korea’s sales growth, market presence, and strategic customer engagement across the Oil, Gas, and Chemical (OGC) market. This leadership position oversees a unified, high-impact sales organization that concurrently drives domestic plant End-User operations (MRO & Turnarounds) and Global Capital Projects executed by major Korean EPC contractors.
Unlike transactional sales management, the OGC Sales Team Manager focuses on building longterm, high-value customer partnerships through consultative solution selling, engineering spec-in, and cross-border project execution. The manager bridges domestic plant asset owners, Korean EPC headquarters/overseas project sites, and Swagelok’s global sales network to maximize project conversion rates, protect margin integrity, and expand Swagelok’s long-term installed base. Working closely with Product Management, Field Engineering Services, Industry Marketing, and Global Project Teams, the manager ensures that all commercial strategies are data-driven, application-oriented, and aligned with market dynamics across refining, petrochemical, and emerging energy transition segments.
Key Responsibilities
-
1) Sales Leadership & Team Management
-
• Lead, mentor, and empower a diverse sales team, including Regional Account Managers (End-User/MRO), EPC Project Leads, and Technical Application Engineers.
-
• Establish comprehensive KPIs and performance-tracking frameworks covering pipeline velocity, mega-bid win rates, recurring MRO margin growth, and cross-border collaborative revenues.
-
• Foster an agile, highly accountable, and collaborative culture centered on consultative value selling and customer intimacy.
-
-
- 2) Integrated Market & Account Strategy (End-User + EPC)
- • Formulate and implement unified commercial strategies that link plant operational needs (MRO/debottlenecking) with new CapEx project pursuits (EPC/FEED/Detail Engineering).
• Lead annual Key Account Planning (KAP) across domestic refining/petrochemical majors (e.g., Ulsan, Yeosu, Daesan) and leading Korean EPC contractors.
• Secure and maintain Swagelok’s approved status on Approved Manufacturer/Vendor Lists (AML/AVL) through strategic relationships with end-user asset managers and EPC chief discipline engineers.
• Drive early-stage engagement at the Licensor, FEED, and basic engineering phases to ensure Swagelok product specifications and customized solutions are locked in prior to procurement tenders.
-
- 3) Global Project Pursuit & Cross-Border Collaboration
- • Monitor and qualify international project pipelines awarded to Korean EPCs (Middle East, North America, Southeast Asia, Central Asia).
• Orchestrate seamless Global Project Collaboration (Split-Credit & Handoff) with international Swagelok sales and service centers near overseas construction sites and foreign asset owners.
• Lead high-stakes project negotiations, ensuring compliance with international project commercial conditions (Incoterms, LDs, performance guarantees, and milestone billing).
-
- 4) End-User MRO & Plant Solution Expansion
- • Drive proactive opportunity identification around plant Turnarounds (T/A), maintenance outages, revamps, and safety retrofits.
• Expand revenue beyond standard fluid components by actively promoting Engineered Solutions (Custom Solutions/Fabrication, Grab Sampling Systems, Mechanical Seal Support Systems, and Field Advisory Services).
• Support business development in emerging energy transition sectors, including clean hydrogen, CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization & Storage), and LNG infrastructure.
-
- 5) Cross-Functional Alignment & Operational Rigor
- • Collaborate with Field Engineering Services to develop technically rigorous proposals and proof-of-concept demonstrations addressing severe-service plant challenges.
- • Partner with Industry Marketing to convert voice-of-customer (VOC) and competitive intelligence into differentiated segment campaigns.
• Drive disciplined CRM governance, pipeline hygiene, conversion stage gates, and forward-looking sales forecasting accuracy.
-
- 6) Executive Customer Relations & Commercial Governance
- • Establish sustainable multi-tiered executive relationships (C-suite, VP of Engineering, Procurement Directors, and Plant Operations/Maintenance Managers).
• Manage annual revenue budgets, discount structures, and gross margins to ensure sustainable commercial health while defending Swagelok’s premium brand value.
• Conduct regular Executive Business Reviews (EBR/QBR) with core end-users and strategic EPC partners
- • 10+ years of industrial B2B sales and commercial leadership experience, preferably within the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, or heavy industrial EPC engineering sector.
• Proven track record balancing both Plant End-User (MRO/T&A) sales and Major Project (CapEx/EPC) execution.
• In-depth understanding of the EPC project lifecycle (FEED, Detail Engineering, Procurement, Modular Fabrication, Construction, Commissioning) and working relationships with major Korean EPCs.
• Strong technical acumen in fluid system components (valves, fittings, manifolds, regulators, instrumentation systems) and international industry standards (ASME, API, NACE, etc.).
• Demonstrated experience working within a multinational matrix organization, successfully managing cross-regional projects and stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical/business discipline.
• Professional fluency in both Korean and English (written and verbal)
