Position Summary:

    • Application engineer is responsible for designing and developing customized product based on specific customer requirements. Engineer will create detailed technical drawings, generate Bills of Materials (BOMs), and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of customer-driven projects.
  •  

Key Responsibilities:

  • - Coordinating with Swagelok HQ(or other global service centers), sales, customers, and the production team to develop and issue detailed proposals based on project requirements, current Custom Solutions capabilities, third party vendor involvement and the overall business case.

    - Monitor and manage project progress, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budgets.

    - Providing technical CAD / Solidworks drawings for customer approval and assembly reference.

    - Offering a competitive quotation through design optimization based on customer’s requirement.

    - Regularly communicate with Assembly team, and provide guidance on product quality and process improvement.

    - Utilizing judgement to evaluate the business risk of opportunities based on project requirements and overall departmental margin goals.

    - Lead customer’s onsite inspection for EPC project and prepare relevant documentation.

    - Providing technical product and application support to Sales and Field engineer for escalated technical customer requests.

    - Ensuring each opportunity quoted or assembled by Swagelok Korea adheres to the organizational guidelines and policies.

    - Report progress of each project and make action plans for next phase; drive the collaboration within the groups.

    - Identify opportunities for optimizing design review processes, reducing lead times, and improving product performance.

 

Professional Experience:

  • - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or 7+ years in similar industry is preferred.

    - Proficient in MS office(Excel / Powerpoint/Word) and Drawing software(Solidworks/CAD)

    · Ability to interpret technical specifications, customer requirements. Strong knowledge of BOM structuring and manufacturing processes.

    · Excellent problem-solving, project management skill and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    · Strong communication skills to interact with customers and internal teams effectively.

    · Preferred experience in leading small group

    · Fluent in speaking and writing English

Position Summary:

  • - Participate in the Swagelok Field Engineering Program to gain proficiency in all Swagelok offered  services and deliver optimal solutions to customers.
  • - Leverage in-depth technical knowledge of key industries to consult with major customers, improving  their systems by effectively utilizing Swagelok products and the A2S (Advanced to Solution) strategy.
  • - Provide technical and service support for Swagelok products across all relevant groups, actively contributing to the growth of Swagelok Korea.
  • - Collaborate directly with customers and account managers to design systems, assemblies, and services that enhance fluid systems while driving sales growth. This role focuses on solving fluid system challenges and providing alternative solutions, positioning Swagelok as a trusted technical expert.
  • - Support sales efforts by identifying opportunities, developing solutions, designing systems, preparing quotations/estimates, and assisting with closing sales when necessary.
  • - Extend Swagelok's engineering services to end-users in strategically critical regions, providing application expertise and technical support for targeted applications, market segments, and key customers.
  • - Develop and deliver fluid system solutions and services tailored to specific customer needs through project support, onsite troubleshooting, onsite services.
  • - Serve as Swagelok Korea's technical representative for existing installations and product returns when required.
  • - Conduct comprehensive evaluations of customer fluid systems, identifying improvement opportunities, enhancing plant efficiency, and presenting solutions through detailed service reports.
  • - Recommend and integrate Swagelok products into specific customer applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • - Deliver Swagelok Onsite Services to key customers, including Field Service Evaluation and Advisory Services (FSEAS), Hose Advisory Services (HAS), Grab Sampling Systems (GSS), Gas Distribution Systems (GDI), and Analytical Instruments (AI).
    - Apply in-depth knowledge of refining processes and process analytical measurements to ensure the quality and reliability of customers' refined products.
    - Demonstrate a strong understanding of analytical applications and processes, including refining, petrochemical production, LNG operations and FPSO / FPU, offshore construction, etc.
    - Possess expert knowledge of process analyzers and analytical instruments, with the ability to handle complex field service operations requiring advanced technical skills.
    - Collect, analyze, and compile data, contributing to assessments and preparation of detailed technical reports.
    - Provide Swagelok Certified Training Services to key customers, enhancing their operational knowledge and system efficiency.
  • - Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and end-users to design solutions, develop high-level engineering projects, and deliver technical consulting to strategic customers.
    - Interpret and understand customer applications to develop P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and fluid schematics, using problem-solving methods to address complex challenges and ensure sound engineering decisions.
    - Address critical troubleshooting needs and resolve technical issues efficiently.
    - Undertake special assignments as directed by management.
    - Develop and implement Engineering Service Programs, offering training to Swagelok Korea associates and customers to improve technical proficiency.
    - Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to develop and execute the annual sales plan, aligning engineering service direction with business growth objectives.

 

Professional Experience:

  • - Bachelor’s degree in technical fields (preferably Analytical, Instrumentation, or Electrical  Engineering) with 10+ years of experience in chemical or refining industry is strongly preferred.  Alternatively, an Associate’s degree in control measurement with 15+ years of relevant experience will also be considered.
    - Hands-on experience with fluid systems and a solid understanding of instrumentation, piping, and P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
    - Proven ability to manage complex projects, ensuring successful outcomes in challenging environments.
    - Experience delivering technical presentations in English, effectively communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences.
    - Extensive knowledge of instrumentation products and systems, with proficiency in MS Office tools.
    - Demonstrated engineering-level expertise and a career focus in relevant markets, systems, or applications.
    - Field engineering or other customer-facing technical roles, showcasing the ability to interface effectively and provide tailored solutions.
